I somehow got the right answer on 4.1 but as I was transferring the problem into my notebook I realized that a.) My handwriting is so messy I have no idea what I did and b.) I cannot figure out for the life of me where 4,300,000 squared came from on the top. Now I am thoroughly confused... any pointers?

you have to add the altitude (800 km) to your radius (3500 km) then convert it to meters which will get you 4,300,000 m
